The nose opens like a basket of warm ripe tropical fruit, marking what we are after in these Lochsides, and rather oily, with hints of soot on cold glass and singer oil. All good for now. The palate takes all that and adds wet plaster and the bittery, powdery tones of white gentian and ginseng. Interesting development, though unexpected. Unfortunately the fruit also quietens down in the face of all this. 88 pts
