Two humble malts with much to be humble for.
Auchroisk 1993 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice 43% ~ bottled 2008
Unfortunately time and wood hasn’t dealt with the feints at all. Wet socks, and stale bread. There is a churned butter oiliness and quite a dose of oaky white wine and yellow hued minerals. But what’s the point when the feints are this loud. 75 pts
Cadenhead’s Speyside (Auchroisk) 8 yo Cadenhead 61.4% ~ bottled late 90s
And feints again, with a sulphurous accent this time. Drier now with green tea, empty breakfast cereal cardboard boxes and cereal dust. Drops of strong honey and dried apricot. Hot, drying and saccharine, but fenity-sulphurous on the tongue. 70 pts
