Complete honesty – Fettercairn struggles a bit to not be the last choice of the evening, but like a champ these are always fun. This one has a layer of bruleed sugar and a touch of sulphur more in the vein of burnt poultry skin than sulphur. But the peach juice and buttery shortbread compensate. Here are some waxy and honey notes as well, all in all fruity and weighty in a way that recalls Craigellachie or a fat Clynelish. The palate is a little lacking, which is to be expected, not the most complex but entirely enjoyable. 87 pts
