Meaty stuff, totally expected, with a touch of blackberries and sooty struck matches, but also softer notes of honey, hearty oat porridge, some chamomile, hay and plenty of hot claypots. Straightforward and big boned but the texture really sets it apart. Chewy, heavy, unafraid of water or ice. Prickle of quasi-sulphur, very Mortlach, malt and graphite oil. 87 pts
