Autumnal, golden leaves dried and crisp on loamy earth. Fine tannins underscore woody spice, but if anything it remains svelte and elegant throughout. Plenty of berry juice and honeyed herbal teas of chamomile and dandelion. A dash of cocoa, dried figs, fruity acids, and familiar fino notes of glazed stone fruit tarts. Warm butter and golden syrup. Surprisingly spiced and firm, hot cinnamon and peppermint tea and peppercorns. The palate is where these golden notes really shine like the sun in a fruit orchard. 92 pts
