Tons of baked apple and mint tea, but also dark tree resins, muddy gravel, mossy wood and oily workbenches. Industrial lubricants, and something woody smoky like birch oil. Very complex for sure. There’s a warm baked fruitiness in all, something like redcurrants and berries, this but it’s less fruity than I had hoped for though excellent nonetheless. The palate is where a damp forest floor really opens up, and a deep spicy warmth from cardamom, licorice, mint and old ginger warm the palate all the way to the finish. 90 pts
