The lighter side of scotch. Clean and clear, like a crisp white wine, with the most fleeting sense of maltiness. Its all green apple skins, unripe peach and tart pear on a bed a clean cereal, just a touch dusty, flints, chalk, barley and a wisp of white smoke. Not quite austere yet lighter bodied than most, and not exactly complicated but it does exactly what it set out to do. Very aperitif, or swap this into a gin cocktail instead. 86 pts
