Cragganmore 10 yo 1993 / 2004 Special Release 60.1%
Plenty of woodspice and oak riding a wave of alcohol, but a subtle floral bouquet in a manner like sweet violet candy (not in a bad way) blooms beneath. Citric elements like this sour lemon drizzle over sponge and zest do win out though. Hay, lemongrass, crystalized ginger and a bit of mushrooms. Remarkably easygoing at this strength, and rather tightly woven. Needs time and water to pry this apart but even then not exactly verbose but again no off notes and perfectly mature at 10 years. Much more though put into the Special Releases back then. 86 pts
