This one is whispering. Old coal, salt crusted rock on rough sandy beaches. It’s phenolic in a dry and ashen manner with burnt herbs and branches on hot earth. So its a cleaner precise sort of Ardbeg, unsurprising given its vintage. Yet some disappointment on the palate it comes across as somewhat restrained with sap, piquant greens, thin ash and minerals. Getting flat now. Perhaps not the best sample condition here so take this as a very doubtful 85 pts
