Longrow 1973 Samaroli 53%
Billowing clouds of dry and resinous white smoke, oil flecked, mineral and sharp, from a bonfire of medicinal barks and roots, and sap laden branches. Sharply mineral and salty in turns, but an intense heat and sooty smoke recalls phenols of a deep geological vein. Touch of farmyard and mud well trodden under hooves. Somewhat austere and narrow but makes up for it in power. A blistering kind of peat that must be experienced. 92 pts
