So much whisky, so little time | Singapore | Tasting Notes

Laphroaig 16 yo 1974 / 1991 Signatory #5119 54.6%

Classic sherry and peat. Purple fruit, cocoa, hot ash and embers. Sea water, licorice, clove laced fruitcake on oily ebony platters. Juicy and moist richness with syrupy molasses. Lampblack, graphite rubbings, autumn leaves, lit petrol, black smoke. Aniseed rock rubbed in sea salt, seaweed tincture, labdanum, tannic black tea oh my very complex and very dry, goes on and on. Firewood and combustion. Only this increasing tannicity keeps it from going higher. 92 pts
