Ardmore should get more love. Here’s a very fine medium peated malt with old school character and oftentimes fruit as well. This one has a pleasant clean farmy side to it, moist mud, cowpats on hot sand, hay on fire or is it cigarettes? Menthol tincture, juniper berries, and in fact quite mineral. Clearly austere. Barley sugar, snapped branches and pastry glaze over subtle current of fruit beneath. An underappreciated make. Slightly thinness and straightforward, but that makes all the more drinkable. 88 pts
