This was back in the early 2010s but already we made it back to the cut and coastal style of Bowmore – which was very welcome at the time I recall, for the man made horrors from the 80s were running their course. This one presented concise minerals but abundant sea and salt, generous dosing of clean peat and even a drop of medicine. Yes very good. This herbal punch of some wintergreen-pine-juniper tincture sharp saltwater and clean peat just stands out. Chalk and gentian violet, and the merest whispers of fruit promise much for the future. On hindsight an ample herald of a return to form. 88 pts
