I have a soft spot for well aged malt in refill bourbon. Here it’s many virtues are on display – Christmas cake full of blackcurrants and woody spices. Strong black tea and soft cream. Also perhaps some mint sachets. Rich enough that one might have suspected some sherry here but no. On the other hand it does show some astringency with leaf sap, chlorophyll and drops of london gin. Even slightly earthy. Interesting interplay, and well balanced across its facets. 90 pts
