Might be one of the best 1982s around. This one is honeyed and waxy in a warm but deeply resinous manner, and it’s relative simplicity belies it’s true depth. Little flecks of turpentine, sunshine, pine needles, flints, gentian, peppermint and even a more than a bit of petrol float around in this most welcoming yellow haze, bouncing off plenty of stone fruit and a phenolic loam. Juniper and quinine hold down the picture with a tart frame, and despite this idyllic scene, there is no shortage of octane and runway. This is one to cherish, everything is just so perfect. 92.5 pts
