So, likely Glenrothes, here au naturel and with good age, offering a clean look at the heart of the spirit. A solid whisky, with a dusty spiciness not unlike rye flakes but also warm cereal, yeasty touches covered with butter, eucalyptus oil, and crushed bay leaf. Lemon sponge. Body is malty and substantial, with pepper and ginger, hints of dusty potpourri here and there. Dry tonic fizz to finish, and rather mixable to come to think of it. 88 pts
