Certain distilleries paired with certain vintages just have it, that little je ne sais quoi. A multifaceted gem of warm beeswax, runny honey, chamomile tea, quinine, sunshine, soft loam under bare feet, juicy yellow peaches in syrup and little peppermint candies in slightly rusty metal tins, whiff of turpentine and sour juice on the tongue. So complex but so transparent. A warm memory held through gold tinted glasses. Immediate, evocative, and so very beautiful if only somewhat fleeting here. 92 pts
