Can’t say I’ve met a Tomintoul collector just yet. Now this is one of the good ones, plenty of little notes spanning resinous and spicy to herbaceous, like old panels, pine needles and wood polish to coriander, ginseng and shiso, and over to clay and gritty minerals with a touch of dirt. Outstanding Tomintoul. Chamomile and quinine tea. Overall its a lighter sort of whisky but it explodes with these high and mid tones. 91 pts
