So much whisky, so little time | Singapore | Tasting Notes

Ireland 26 yo 1990 / 2017 Maltbarn #72 49.3%

This is one where the grassy, cut herbs aspect and the berry juiciness sit side by side. We have grass juice, dill, quinine and concrete dust but also red currants and blackberries, sweetened by passionfruit with hints of mango – so sharp aserbic and zippy but sweet. On the palate it is indeed a bit of a toss up between the two. Sap and peeled bark next to sweet summer juice and sunlight, each jostling for that spot on your tongue. Flashes of hot minerals and sunned pinewood. Delicious. 90 pts
