Here comes the fruit and its warm, dripping oranges and oozing yellows, full ripe technicolour in between. Passionfruit, blood orange, mango and sharp berries, now (albeit a touch quicker than I like) fading into earthy tones of gritty earth-covered coal chunks and new mud. Bright flashes of flint are a white laced heat that slice into the earthiness before it becomes too dirty. Grimy rags, earthen floors. Chives and sprigs of something savoury. On the tongue the fruit is more evident and is happily shot through the round and dense body of the whisky. Truly a commanding presence on the senses, only developing from fruit to phenols and dirt a little too rapidly. 92 pts
