So much whisky, so little time | Singapore | Tasting Notes

Rosebank 20yo Zenith 57%

Rosebank 20yo Zenith 57% I was not ready the first time I tried this, but every time I come back I find its brilliance ever brighter with each pass. There is a real sense of gritty and parched phenolics that lunges in the direction of peat but doesn’t quite take it over the line. Cold dry tar, buckets of soot, cypriol, hardened lumps of black resins from some industrial original. Bakelite, dry dirt and gravel, pitch black ink. Bone dry and brittle with acrid black ash crumbling in your fingers, but also crystalized oranges, citrons and preserved persimmons. Powerful, unbending and magnificent. 94 pts
