Glencadam 15 yo 46% ~ 2012 bottling vs ‘East Highland’ Glencadam 13 yo Cadenhead 59.4%

Glencadam 15 yo 46% ~ 2012 bottling

Natural and naked malt. This will be straightforward: Clean, malty, toasted cereal, butter and breakfast honey. Grain dust, white pepper, hot stones. Some clay like minerals beginning to show, plus some zest, a work in progress. Simple and effective, could have be 8 yo though. 83 pts

‘East Highland’ Glencadam 13 yo Cadenhead 59.4%

A high powered version of the 15 yo, really, this time with some mass brought by clean sweet oils. But familiar minerals like wet clay and a host of other hot flinty minerals abound. Some petrichor. Strident menthol and hot mustard effect on the tongue. Again simple and effective. 83 pts
