Lochside 29 yo 1981 / 2010 The Whisky Agency 52.7%
As expected there’s a lot going on. Sour and ripe fruit evenly pace the dry woodspice, its fruitiness matching the dry aromatics of bay and clove. There’s maybe toasted rye bread, smeared with honey and marmalade and discarded woody sprigs and grapefruit rind in the sink. Assorted fruit peel, chopped salad, parsley and peppery oil. Gastronomical! The mouth is where the varied facets of this whisky pulls together and really shines. 90 pts
