Ardbeg 80 proof 26 fl oz white label

He who opened it did so at a great price. Tsk. A glorious old Ardbeg that demonstrates that Ardbeg was not always heavily peated. We find ourselves squinting on bright sun lit shores, an immaculate sea lapping salty and fresh on white sands. Pristine air, cloudless blue firmament, sugared lemon peel and wisps of cigarette smoke, glints of tarry phenols feather light and flitting about. In the distance, a chugging engine, peat fire, little drops of gentian tinctures and brine mix. A very familiar picture considering 70s Ardbeg but here without the same sharpness and precision, instead idyllic calm and watercolour transparency. There’s something to be said about going back to this style. 91 pts
