This is possibly the earliest vintage OB you can get your hands on at auction. Thank you to you who opened it recently. Despite my chequered history with Bunnahabhain, I can absolutely love this one. A big and weighty dram with undeniable presence, verbose with roast nuts, viscous oils flecked with soot and warmed by running machinery. Dusty pollen, cinnamon dust, wax scrapings, old potpourri and workbenches. Absolutely no cheese or lactic greasiness. A sizzle of sear like meat on hot metal pans , almost sulphur like, smokeless fire and charred bits, it growls softly and with pleasure. Despite its weight, it remains gentle to the end. Time brings the soft spice of licorice root tea and a drop of bitters. 90 pts
