Waxy to a Clynelish-esque extent. It beggared my belief to be sure. Chamomile, hay, sunny days and runny honey. Baked butter tarts and pear frangipane. Warm wax and little hints of snubbed burnt things. Goes on with images of white granite. Petrichor. As if that wasn’t enough the tongue also brings juicy stonefruit like apricot and nectarines, hot white clay, and molten resins to ride on to a dry barky finish. Spectacular really. 91 pts

Some wax as well, but a lot more introspective. Pollen with floral overtones (not in a bad way), potpourri and dried leaves. Quinine, pine wood, maybe hints of lily that’s a little old. Somewhat earthy with cleaned mushrooms and bits of decayed wood. Gentian root. A little musky even. Thick nut oils, and maybe some medicinal bark and ginger tea. A difficult one to read, not the most bold, though not without its layered nuances. 87 pts
