Gorgeous fruity start. Ripe lychee, cantaloupe and pineapple pie filling. Lush and richly textured from nose to finish. Its a while tinned fruit mix, slightly floral like elderflower and chamomile tea. The palate gets interesting with a U-turn towards salty parma. Now fennel seeds and bay leaf buoy an enthusiastically herbaceous-aromatic heart before which even the fruit recedes. Not to worry the fruit returns at the finish and well beyond. Unlike some Irish, this one has quite some silky weight with soft oils and savoury herbs buzzing around. Note to self: blending this with a heavily peated Smogen is phenomenal. 91 pts
