This profile is a deep love of mine. Cold putty on marble, damp chalkboards, potter’s clay, concrete mix and dust on lightbulbs after you’ve turned it on. White sap and scratched plastics. Thin honey mixed with paraffin and clear oil. These sharp mineral-earthy notes belies its weight on the tongue, and the whisky smacks you in the face as a reminder. Smoking resins on burners, flecks of soot, plenty of dried and grated lime zest, and medicinal in a powdered leaf and root mix sort of way. Unique in an unimitable way, even for Clynelish, these 73s are not easy, but its a massive love for me. 93 pts
