OBE but you can’t blame these old bottles, at at this strength individual bottle condition matters as well. An overt sherry influence that leans more meaty with burnt bits, charred pans and the metallic glints of exposed iron on skin. Also some cocoa, coffee granules, charred pastry ends. Burnt nuts and fig paste here and there, clove dust and light grey smoke from a thin earthy peat. Complexity is not it’s problem, but it’s clearly getting tired like a faded painting, otherwise a perfectly good drink for a regular evening if that makes sense. 86 pts
