A totally different era of Springbank, reminds me of the 50yo pear shape bottle. No huge whisky here, in fact it could be called delicate. Scratched metal pans and clean copper. Metal polish. Poached pears in syrup and thin white smoke. Very nuanced. Almost transparent. Algae in salty rock pools. Chamomile tea, dried spearmint, clean camphor, hints of engine oil and dust on warm lightbulbs. Not a bombshell but surely a view into some ancient chapter of Springbank past. 87 pts
