I have not heard of this range, apparently by La Maison themselves? So uncommon I couldn’t even find a good picture of a full bottle:
Rosebank 16yo 1990 / 2006, Malt Pedigree by La Maison Du Whisky, cask 1513, 243 bottles, 56.7%
Nose: ‘High’ fruit notes – lemon zest, apples and pears. Estery, the chemists might say. Lightly floral too, lilies in a vase in the next room. Clean cut and straightforward nose. Malt and cream and newly varnished furniture. Scented paper and glycerin. Typewriter ribbons? Almost dusty too. With water: No change.
Palette: Pleasant, malty sweet and lightly zesty/floral notes again. Touch of white pepper that sticks to the tongue to the end, how interesting! Light machine oil, you know Granny’s Singer oil.
Finish: Medium, warming, peppery and clean clean clean.
Enjoyable, straightforward simple stuff. Aperitif.
