Ah. An unassailable nose. Heavily buttered rye bread, whilst sitting on rattan chairs overlooking the sea, salt breeze stinging your face, dried grass whipping about underfoot. All while surrounded by stagnant rock pools, coiled rope, barrels of engine oil, and drying sea mud. Preserved lemons and a drop of tincture. There’s something here that speaks about the timeless love of the narrow places where the land is kissed by the sea. 89 pts

An austere take on Pulteney, all  grainy sharpness, algae, the bitey-est salt bite, just a little paraffin and singer oil. And what’s this? More than a suggestion of glue. That changes in the worst way on the tongue. Did someone drop a tub of Uhu in the barrel? Sorry, just NO.
