One of the unicorns. How many 60s Clynelish single casks are there? The nose floors you. Old resin and cold engine lubricants, old clay and wet chalk smeared with industrial grime and petrichor. Truly stunning, I am left grasping. Thick and not beating around the bush, yet compact and concise at the same time. Old wax candles with sooty wicks, worn workshop work tops of ancient cedar and old apples in the sunlight, next to leather aprons and stained workbooks. Old old minerals, not blazing or fresh but weathered and knowing, and worn down to its very essence. This has the very best of what old Clynelish has to offer. 95 pts
