So much whisky, so little time | Singapore | Tasting Notes

Bunnahabhain 1976 / 2001 Scott’s Selection 46.3%

Sometimes I find something in Bunnahabhain, particularly the 80s and 90s stuff, that reminds me of stale cheese. But not here, though Bunnahabhain is no doubt a weighty, oily whisky. Here its heavy brown nut oils, salted, and a bit of pepper bite too. Leftover butter dough warming on the counter. Big whisky. Almost overripe melons, oiled copper pans in an old kitchen with earthen floors and clay earthenware. A bast of chives, onion and ginger is being prepared, savoury meaty stuff here. Undoubtedly rotund, heavy from start to finish. 86 pts.
