Both were owned by Charles MacKinlay Co Ltd. during in the 70s:
Glen Mhor 10 yo Finest Old Highland Malt Moccia Import 43% ~ early 70s
This one has dried banana chips and something like a cold kitchen before the morning fry. Empty honey jars, oiled chopping blocks and a green edge of powdered thyme and basil, with a bit of umami though overall a rather soft whisky. Piquant herbal infusions, one of those gourmet mixes of round spice and sharp greens. 87 pts
Jura 8 yo Pure Malt Charles MacKinlay 43% ~ late 70s/early 80s
More coastal next to the Glen Mhor, and with an Islands character of salt air, smoke from distant peaty fires, cold half burnt candles and dry rope. Some hints of dank corners and heavily wet wood appear too. And a sort of moldy fruit. Not as fruity as an older one I tried sometime ago I think. Jura always makes interesting whisky. 86 pts
