An old malt, elegant and understated. We have a fanfare of little polished nuggets like cold cream, half a digestive, old leather gloves, tobacco tins, hardened toffee, celery, and to add to that, some savoury herbs like parsley and oregano. The whole is rounded down into softness by time and long years in wood. Dried out citron and grapefruit peel next to aromatic tree resins like elemi and piney bark with a bright warmth. A bit of a surprise with a little salt at the finish. Maybe a little too understated. 88 pts

Oh joy: Acidic tropical fruit of yellow and orange hues, warm, juicy and very citric. Exuberant citrus oils! Also some chlorophyll and sap, fresh mint tea, old paper, touches of glue, pinecones, gravel dirt paths. Very much expected of 76 Tomatin, and as always, much love for this style. 91 pts
