Where did December go? As aggressive at it gets with Clynelish – Heady petrol fumes and the razor edged sharpness of acerbic vitamin chews. Green violet leaf sap, bitter and somewhat chemical, a touch of salted lemons, hardened paraffin, hot rocks and minerals glowing evilly in this sizzling picture. Sharp and caustic on the tongue again, its a blaze of heat and stripping agents, mineral oil and plenty of hot metal pans. Scratched bakelite and the ignition of bunsen burners. There’s plenty of standoffish character here, perhaps wanting for the mellowness of a bit more age, but it does stand tall and proud. 88 pts
