A fruity take on this storied malt, but fruit that’s leaking out in the afternoon heat out in the orchard, warm and ripe. Snapped branches and earthy undergrowth, matched with petrol smoke, bags of black coal against splashes of saltwater and a host of other little grimy phenolics. Surprisingly phenolic really. Lit tobacco, driftwood and salty licorice in brown paper bags at the pier. Saltier and saltier. Despite all that its not a muscular one but a full panorama with blended nuances, so its one to spend time on. 92 pts
